Fringe Events

The Margate coffee community have come out in force to support the very first Queer Coffee Collective event with a range of fabulous fringe activities!

  • Location: Curve Coffe Roaster, CT10 3AT

Get a tour of this local roastery hosted by co-owners Tereza and head roaster Jon! You'll get a chance to have a peak behind the scenes of their coffee roasting and training operations and learn the ins and outs of what a day in the roastery looks like. Starting with quality control, you'll taste a range of their current coffees together in a guided cupping session. They’ll then take you through their production processes - building their daily roasting schedule, explaining how their roaster works and what they aim for with their different roast profiles. They'll show all the gadgets involved in sorting, packing and dispatch, and finally pack, seal and label your very own bag of coffee to take home.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Hannah Davies (she/her)

Grace Talbot (she/her)

After facing their own challenges of growing up queer in a straight world, both Grace and Hannah have made it their mission to create safe and accessible spaces through their work with Cup North.

They are very excited to launch Queer Coffee Collective with the intention of creating a safe space for all queer coffee people outside of Cup North's existing events. This will be a community gathering to bolster queer representation within the industry, providing an opportunity for professional development, networking and to have fun within their community!
